Welcome to Include Suffolk

Include Primary School - Suffolk is an Ofsted registered independent primary school. We provide full-time, alternative education for young people, most of whom have social, emotional and/or mental health needs (SEMH) or autistic spectrum disorders (ASDs).

We are registered with the Dept for Education for 75 places at Key Stage 1 and 2, across three sites at Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and Lowestoft. Pupils attend our school for assessment, social nurture and academic intervention, before being supported back into appropriate mainstream or specialist schooling.

"I am extremely proud of the progress pupils make within our school socially, as well as academically. Pupils come to our school presenting with multiple barriers to learning and generally this manifests as pupils who display a lack self-esteem and/or confidence within a school setting.

Our mission is to enable each pupil to leave our school with renewed confidence in their ability  and for this stepping stone to provide a springboard that re-invigorates their school career.

We have a highly committed staff team who amaze me on a daily basis with their resilience, care and quality that  they provide. It is our goal for each child that attends our school to become the very best version of themselves that they can be. We pride ourselves in the high quality leadership at each school site and our excellent communication with our pupils, parents/carers, partnerships and our Local Advisory Board to ensure that we continue to progress as a school and our pupils receive the very best in alternative education."

Catch-22 Suffolk School Prospectus 18/19

Include Primary School (Bury St Edmunds) currently accommodates up to 24 pupils between years 1 and 6. The school offers the full National Curriculum alongside nurture sessions and extra academic interventions.  Our timetable is designed to help children  not only with their academic progress but also to address their social and emotional progress. The school provides up to 25 hours education. Our school day starts at 9.30am and ending at 2.30pm, Monday to Friday. The school currently has 4 classes, KS1, 2x Lower KS2 and Upper KS2 and the staff are trained in both behavioural and Special Educational teaching.

As a school we work closely with parents to make sure the children get the best opportunities possible where parents can be assured in the knowledge that they are involved in all aspects of the child’s learning and progression.

Most of the children we work with have behavioural issues due to many different reasons such as anxiety, low self esteem and confidence, other reasons can be due to learning difficulties such as ASD, Apsergers, ADHD or attachment disorders.

As a short- term placement we will work with pupils, parents/carers and the Local Authority to source the best long term, permanent educational facility for them.

Include School Suffolk is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
